We search for American whiskey with character. Whiskey with a sense of place, made by people we trust and selected because we genuinely want to drink it ourselves.

The people

The people behind Hemblin

HEMBLIN & FRIENDS grew out of friendship, curiosity and a shared fascination with American whiskey.

The names behind it matter. But the friends matter even more.

Linus Jonsson

Linus discovered American whiskey far away from Kentucky, in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. What started with the whiskey quickly became just as much about the places, the people and the friendships surrounding it.

Years of travelling through Wisconsin and Kentucky followed, along with an increasingly unreasonable fascination with American whiskey, the people who make it and the stories found beyond the bottle.

With a background in restaurants and hospitality, Linus has always believed that what you serve matters — but who you share it with matters just as much.

Björn Jönsson

Björn comes from the restaurant and hotel world, with a lifelong interest in food, drink and how things are made.

Trips to the United States first sparked his interest in American whiskey. Curiosity did the rest. Over the years that interest has developed into a deep appreciation and knowledge of American whiskey — from the liquid itself to the craft, places and people behind it.

Björn brings a thoughtful palate, curiosity and an ability to keep things grounded when whiskey conversations inevitably become far more complicated than they need to be.

And somewhere between bottles, journeys and countless conversations, a very good friendship became part of HEMBLIN & FRIENDS.
